DIY: Chalkboard Notebook + GIVEAWAY!

To celebrate the end of National Stationery Week I have teamed up with Claireabellemakes, Oh NO Rachio and Hello Harriet to create a notebook DIY and to celebrate with a little giveaway...

Each of us has posted a different way to make or customise your own journal - and all four notebooks are up for grabs! Details of how to enter the giveaway are at the end of this post... but first, if you're feeling crafty, here's a little DIY on how to make your own Chalkboard Notebook.

You will need:
  • Plain Notebook
  • Pencil
  • Black Acrylic Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • White Gel Pen

First, draw out your design lightly in pencil - make sure that you choose a shape that is big enough to fit in your text!

When you are happy with your design begin painting! Be sure to cover up the pencil lines - and don't layer on too thickly as you don't want any bumps.

Once your paint has dried write your type out very lightly in pencil (you don't want it to show through) and then go over using your gel pen to create you chalkboard style design.

Simple as that! What do you think? I reckon I might make some more of these for my Etsy shop with more elaborate typography :)
